Job description

Purpose


TheProject Engineeris a key team member whose primary responsibility is to support the construction activities of the project management team by processing information and controlling all aspects of the project administration. The Project Engineer will support the group by means of organizing and maintaining data records, establishing clear lines of communication between customers, operations, and staff.


Job Responsibilities


  • Onboarding new jobs: assist in project startup including permitting, electronic file setup, budget preparation and submittal, coordination of the superintendent on-site needs, job site compliance, data entry, and communication with clients as needed.
  • Bid process: assist with bid preparation under the guidance of the Project Manager, prepare and update pre-qualification applications, maintain bid list and track process.
  • Subcontracts: Data entry and job costing, initiate approval of monthly applications for payment, change orders, compliance management, and manage ongoing subcontractor correspondence.
  • Purchasing:assist Project Manager in procurement and data entry for job costing.
  • Billing: assist Project Manager in coding pay estimates.
  • Project plans and submittals: maintenance of electronic files, tracking, distribution, and correspondence.
  • Project administration: assist Project Manager with change orders, routing, and tracking. Maintain communication with project lead to ensure all necessary job file and documents are complete. Set up inspectors when needed.
  • Job closeout: assists Project Management team in all project close-out activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience


  • 1-3 years of administration, accounting, or engineering experience. Experience working on large scale construction projects in similar role is preferred.
  • Bachelors in Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent from accredited undergraduate institution preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in billing, document control, and purchasing.
  • Commitment to maintaining data accuracy and timeliness in processing and deliver.
  • Working knowledge of all office practices and software.
