Job Title:  Anchor - WFOX TV

Position Overview

WFOX TV Jacksonville is looking for a morning news anchor who will work in a newsroom that emphasizes breaking news, daily investigative reporting and severe weather coverage. The candidate is responsible for anchoring newscasts, live anchoring in the field and reporting news stories.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in writing, pre-production and broadcast preparation; ensuring stories are clear/accurate and represent the station’s benchmark goals. 
  • Deliver news copy on camera in a credible and professional manner, as scheduled or needed 
  • Research and gather information on news stories
  • Contribute daily to all station digital platforms and initiatives, including social media. 
  • Use creativity and imagination, and exercise independent professional judgment in investigating, reporting, interviewing, writing, editing and delivering news stories and assigned events 
  • Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance 
  • Attend and participate in editorial meetings
  • Collaborate with managers, producers, and other anchors daily
  • Contribute story ideas
  • Professionally represent station at promotions and community affair events 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum education of a bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field 
  • Minimum of 5 years reporting/anchoring
