This role provides independent oversight of data-related risks to ensure alignment with enterprise risk standards and regulatory expectations. You will evaluate and challenge how data risks are managed while guiding improvements to controls and governance. This position offers strong visibility and the opportunity to shape data risk practices across the bank.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide independent second line oversight of data risk, including data quality, governance, privacy, and usage.

  • Evaluate and challenge the effectiveness of first line controls and risk mitigation activities.

  • Partner with Data Governance, Data Management, Compliance, and Operational Risk teams to align oversight with risk appetite and regulations.

  • Develop and maintain enterprise data risk processes, standards, and oversight methodologies.

  • Monitor key data risk indicators, emerging risks, and issue remediation, escalating concerns as needed.

  • Co-chair the enterprise Data Governance Committee to support effective program oversight.

  • Co-lead responses to regulatory exams, internal audits, and risk reporting.

Education & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Information Management, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in risk management, data governance, or data risk oversight within financial services.

  • 4+ years of experience evaluating complex data environments and constructively challenging control effectiveness.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Information Management, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience with data-related regulatory frameworks such as OCC, FFIEC, CCPA, or GDPR.
