Prime Controls

Lewisville, TX โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Job description

Established in 2004, Prime Controls is a family-owned Systems Integration and I&C Construction firm dedicated to meeting clients' industrial automation and control requirements. As a Main Automation Contractor, we offer comprehensive solutions, supported by our size, expertise, and extensive experience. With a professional team of over 1,000 employees, Prime Controls serves customers nationwide from our Dallas, Texas headquarters and offices throughout the South-Central United States. Our mission is to deliver the highest quality professional services while prioritizing our employees' well-being and fostering an exceptional workplace environment.

Why This Role Exists

Prime Controls is seeking a Construction Technology Manager (CTM) to lead the technology, processes, and standards that support construction execution across the organization. As the company continues to grow, this role will help ensure project teams are using scalable, consistent, and efficient tools to plan, manage, and deliver work.

The CTM  serves as the business owner for Prime's construction technology ecosystem, partnering with Construction, Project Management, BIM/VDC, Engineering, Field Operations, and BTG to drive platform strategy, governance, adoption, and continuous improvement. This role will evaluate, implement, and optimize construction platforms while ensuring alignment with business processes and operational goals.

The ideal candidate combines construction experience with a passion for process improvement and technology, using systems and standards to improve project execution across the organization rather than managing individual projects.

What You'll DoShape the Future of Construction Execution at Prime Controls

This isn't a system administrator role and it isn't a project management position.

You'll be responsible for helping define how Prime Controls executes construction projects for years to come. Working directly with construction leaders, project teams, field personnel, and Business Technology Group leadership, you'll evaluate, implement, and optimize the platforms that support our rapidly growing project portfolio.

You'll have a seat at the table as Prime determines the future of construction technology, field execution, project visibility, and digital transformation across the organization.

Lead Construction Technology Strategy
  • Own the vision, roadmap, and long-term success of Primeโ€™s construction execution platforms.
  • Evaluate and guide the selection of enterprise construction solutions, including Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, CxAlloy, and emerging technologies.
  • Partner with operational leaders to ensure technology investments solve real field challenges and improve project outcomes.
  • Influence how construction teams leverage technology to improve productivity, collaboration, quality, and project visibility.
Drive Field Adoption and Operational Excellence
  • Spend time with project teams, superintendents, and construction managers to understand how work is performed in the field.
  • Translate operational challenges into scalable processes, workflows, and platform solutions.
  • Eliminate manual tracking, disconnected spreadsheets, and inefficient workarounds by creating practical, field-friendly solutions.
  • Champion best practices that improve consistency while supporting the realities of project execution.
Connect Construction, Technology, and Data
  • Partner with BIM/VDC, Engineering, Project Management, Construction Operations, and BTG teams to ensure construction systems work together seamlessly.
  • Help define how construction data flows across ERP, engineering, commissioning, and field execution platforms.
  • Support integration initiatives that improve visibility, reduce duplication, and create a more connected project delivery environment.
  • Evaluate new technologies, enhancements, and integrations that can provide measurable value to the business.
Lead Change and Build What's Next
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to construction leadership on technology, process improvement, and platform strategy.
  • Drive adoption through training, communication, stakeholder engagement, and continuous feedback.
  • Help establish the standards and workflows that will support Primeโ€™s next phase of growth.
  • Play a key role in building a scalable digital construction environment capable of supporting complex industrial, infrastructure, and data center projects nationwide.
What Success Looks LikeWithin your first year, you will help Prime:
  • Select and implement the right enterprise construction platform strategy.
  • Increase visibility into project execution, progress tracking, and field operations.
  • Reduce reliance on disconnected spreadsheets and manual processes.
  • Improve consistency across project teams and regions.
  • Create a scalable technology foundation that supports continued company growth.
What You Will BringRequired
  • 7+ years of construction industry experience in construction management, project management, project engineering, field operations, VDC/BIM coordination, or operations leadership.
  • A demonstrated track record of standing up processes, standards, checklists, or playbooks that people actually followed โ€” ideally in environments that previously had none.
  • Deep working knowledge of construction execution: pre-construction planning, scope and change-order management, field operations, submittals, RFIs, and asset/equipment tracking on active jobsites.
  • Hands-on experience inside one or more construction-focused platforms (Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, CxAlloy, Facility Grid, Bluebeam, Newforma, or similar) as a user, project administrator, or project champion.
  • Comfort being boots-on-the-ground: traveling to project sites (up to 50%), running working sessions with construction managers and superintendents, and converting field feedback into structured decisions.
  • Ability to define and enforce standards across project teams that historically operated independently, without losing the credibility needed to keep them engaged.
  • Strong analytical, facilitation, and decision-making skills, with the candor to surface friction and resistance honestly rather than work around it.
Preferred
  • Experience in specialty contracting, controls, instrumentation, electrical, or other asset-heavy construction environments.
  • Direct experience evaluating, piloting, or rolling out a construction platform at the project or company level.
  • Familiarity with BIM/VDC workflows and how model data interacts with field execution.
  • Exposure to ERP/MRP systems (Acumatica a plus) and how construction execution data ties back to project financials.
  • Working understanding of integration concepts (APIs, data exchange, SSO) sufficient to partner effectively with integration and ERP teams.
  • Vendor management experience with enterprise SaaS vendors.

What We Offer

Full-time employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including:

  • Health, Dental, and Vision coverage
  • Flexible Spending Account(s)
  • Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP)
  • Generous PTO
  • 401k with matching
  • Numerous company events and a culture that invests in its people

Physical requirements and work environment expectations vary by position. Generally, roles at Prime Controls may involve moderate noise, occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions, and, depending on the role, work at heights or around airborne particles and electrical components. Physical activities may include standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, as well as the use of hands, arms, and voice communication. Some roles may require lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements may include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
