About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Integration & Automation Engineer to serve as the technical owner and subject matter expert for a growing enterprise automation environment. This role is responsible for designing, developing, governing, and maintaining scalable integrations and automation solutions that connect critical business applications and services.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Workato platform administration, enterprise integrations, API management, automation governance, and workflow optimization. This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact by building and enhancing enterprise-grade automation solutions in a complex technology environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary technical owner of the Workato platform.
  • Administer, secure, maintain, and optimize Workato environments and platform capabilities.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise automation workflows, recipes, orchestrations, and custom connectors.
  • Build and maintain integrations between enterprise applications, SaaS platforms, and internal systems.
  • Develop reusable integration components, triggers, actions, workflows, and error-handling frameworks.
  • Establish and enforce automation governance standards, development practices, security requirements, and lifecycle management processes.
  • Manage development, testing, and production environments, including deployments, version control, and release management.
  • Configure and maintain API integrations, OAuth authentication, credentials, and connection management.
  • Monitor platform performance, throughput, execution metrics, and operational health.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
  • Optimize existing automations for scalability, reliability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Support testing efforts, user acceptance testing (UAT), deployments, and production validation activities.
  • Maintain technical documentation, data mappings, integration inventories, and operational procedures.
  • Evaluate emerging Workato capabilities, including AI-powered automation and API platform enhancements.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience developing enterprise integrations, automation solutions, or middleware platforms.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with Workato, including:
    • Recipes
    • Callable workflows
    • Custom connectors
    • Connections
    • Environment management
    • Platform administration
  • Strong experience integrating applications using:
    • REST APIs
    • SOAP services
    • JSON
    • XML
    • OAuth
    • Modern authentication protocols
  • Experience managing Development, Test, and Production environments.
  • Strong understanding of integration architecture, reusable design patterns, logging, monitoring, and error handling.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex automation and integration issues.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience integrating platforms such as Salesforce, SAP, ServiceNow, Agiloft, or similar enterprise solutions.
  • Experience developing custom Workato connectors.
  • Knowledge of Workato API Platform and Workato AI capabilities.
  • Experience establishing automation governance frameworks and enterprise integration standards.
  • Workato certifications such as Automation Pro, Automation Expert, or equivalent credentials.
