Job description

ENT and Allergy Associates of Florida has been serving the needs of our patients for 62 years. Join us and experience what it's like to take pride in being part of a dynamic team that is on the cutting edge.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, strong clinical skilled compassionate Medical Assistant or Nurse looking for a part time position and gradually move to full time when the opportunity becomes available in our Allergy Clinical Department to help grow department's longevity. We are open Monday - Thursday, 8:00-5:00, Friday, 8:00-2:00, while this position is for Fridays only, there must be flexibility to work additional days if needed. You must be multitask oriented, motivated, able to handle a high volume of patients, be a self-starter and willing to learn all aspects of Allergy and ENT.
Functions include: the ability to interact with patients for 30-80 minutes, following allergy protocols, answering patient calls, taking patient histories, giving injections, performing allergy skin tests, obtaining authorizations, preparing exam rooms, sterilization techniques, handling of inventory, etc.
Reconcile existing information for established patients manually or via patient portal. i.e. past medical history, current medications, surgeries and family history. Ensure appropriate boxes are indicated in EMR to document the scribe acknowledgement.
Reviews charts at the end of patient encounters, verifying accuracy before physician signs off on chart note. Identify any discrepancies and/or missing information.
Obtaining proper consent forms and ensuring proper scope of practice is followed.
Sterilize instruments in accordance with CDC, ENTAAF and if applicable with Autoclave manufacturer requirements i.e. cold sterilization autoclave.
Requirements:
Minimum TWO years' HANDS ON Clinical experience, working knowledge of medical terminology, strong written and verbal communication skills with a clear speaking voice, strong interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, the ability to interact professionally at all times with patients, physicians and team members. Must be current with your License or Medical Assistant certification or willing to participate and pass our in house 1 year employee commitment training course and National test. Allergy experience is a plus.
Physical Demands: Coordination, manual, and physical dexterity sufficient to properly and adequately use various items of medical equipment and office equipment as required of the position or directed by the Clinical Manager. The position may involve sitting, standing, bending, and stooping. Incumbent must also be able to assist patients in transferring from wheelchair to an Allergy Testing chair, when necessary. Responsibilities may also require the incumbent to travel between ENTAAF offices for support purposes. The incumbent must also be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds. We will make reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities if needed to perform the essential functions of the job.
Working Conditions: Normal medical office environment; this environment may involve dealing with a high traffic volume of people and stressful situations requiring the ability to think clearing; respond quickly; and to be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Periodic training and administration workshops and meetings specific to Allergy may be scheduled. When scheduled, incumbent is expected to attend and participate.
