Job description

Student Employee - Alumni Services Assistant
Career & Internship Services
Department: Ensign College Career and Internship Services
Reports To: Associate Director of Career Services or Alumni Coordinator Missionary
Position Information
Position Type: Part-Time Hourly (15-19 hours per week)
Hourly Wage: Starting at $14.00/hour. You may receive a $0.25 increase each semester based on performance. If you already work at Ensign College, your wage will start at your current hourly rate.
Position Summary
The Alumni Services Assistant helps manage Ensign College's alumni community through the PeopleGrove platform (Ensign Connect). You will keep the alumni database accurate, support alumni access to career tools, and conduct research to track graduate outcomes. This role is detail-oriented and mission-driven: your work directly supports how Ensign College stays connected to its graduates.
Specific Responsibilities
Alumni Database Administration
  • Maintain and update the PeopleGrove (Ensign Connect) alumni database for accuracy and completeness
  • Identify and merge duplicate user accounts to keep the database clean
  • Review and approve new user registrations based on established eligibility criteria
  • Monitor user activity and respond to violations of the platform's terms of agreement

Alumni Research
  • Use LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other tools to track alumni career paths after graduation
  • Collect and organize data on alumni post-graduation activities for reporting and departmental analysis
  • Summarize findings clearly for use in presentations and leadership reports

Career Tool Access and Support
  • Approve and assist alumni requesting access to career readiness tools, including Vmock, Big Interview, and Interstride
  • Respond to alumni inquiries and route questions to the appropriate team member when needed

Qualifications
  • Enrolled at Ensign College (at least 6 credits per semester, 3 per block) and in good academic standing
  • Resides in Utah
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable using LinkedIn; familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator is a plus
  • Familiarity with Ensign Connect (PeopleGrove) preferred
  • Able to work independently and follow through on tasks without close supervision
  • Experience with Excel, database queries, or data organization is a plus
