Job description

Major League Baseball is looking for a Manager, Baseball Operations to join our Baseball & Softball Development team. This person would Coordinate and assist with the administrative baseball functions of the Compton Youth Academy, assist Academy Director and Office Manager in planning, development, promotion and coordination of MLB Youth Academy programs.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily administrative tasks, including answering phones, taking notes during staff meetings,ย communicating information to staff
  • Coordinate Academy registration, attendance programming and communication through League Apps Academy player management system
  • Coordinate planning and execution of various MLB Youth Academy events (clinics, camps, showcases, community events, golf tournament, outreach)
  • Coordinate and assist with program oversight of the various Baseball programs offered at the Academy
  • Assist Coordinator of Baseball Instruction with administrative tasks as requested ( rosters, lineups, registrations, charts, player development plans and scouting reports)
  • Assist with office administrative duties as assigned by Academy Director and Office Manager
  • Perform related duties to Dodgers Dream team as needed
  • Assist with Academy baseball instruction/team coaching as needed
  • Serve as General Manager/administrative lead for the Academy Barons summer baseball team

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Organized, efficient and exceptional communication (oral and written) skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently, take initiative and maintain composure under pressure
  • Able to work extended hours and weekends during spring and summer seasons
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful
  • Travel - 25% local overnight travel expected around All Star and Spring Break events

Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 (Base Salary) + Bonus

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
