Job description

About Us

At Intramotev, we are dedicated to revolutionizing the freight industry by liberating tons of freight from congested highways, reducing carbon emissions, and enhancing transportation efficiency. We are deploying self-propelled battery-electric railcars and vehicles to transform freight logistics and bring innovation to our rail network.

Based in St. Louis, MO, we are committed to promoting industrial revitalization, saving lives, and minimizing the environmental impact of trucking/transportation. We actively foster a work environment for every teammate that's welcoming, respectful and inclusive, with great opportunities for professional growth. Find your future with us.

Role Overview

We are seeking an Engineering Systems Administrator to run the back end of our engineering applications stack — PDM/PLM administration, CAD data governance, engineering release flow, and ERP integration — in support of the development of our self-propelled battery-electric railcars and vehicles. Today that stack is Autodesk Inventor and Vault Professional feeding bills of materials (BOMs) into Odoo ERP; the electrical team designs wire harnesses in RapidHarness, and this role helps administer that tool and integrate its design data into the same BOM and release flow. This is a systems-administration and data-governance role, not a design engineering role: the design team are the front-end users, and the successful candidate administers the server-side configuration and the workflows that keep engineering data trustworthy from concept through production — with room to grow into full ownership of our configuration control processes as the team scales.

This role reports to the Director of Engineering and serves as the go-to resource for the design engineering team on standards, templates, data governance, and release workflow. This is a full-time, 100% in-office role based in St. Louis, MO. You'll work within a team of 3–10 engineers and engage in occasional domestic travel (<10%).

Key Responsibilities

  • PDM/PLM Administration: Administer the server-side configuration of Autodesk Vault Professional — lifecycle definitions, revision schemes, custom properties, server and client deployment, and user/permission management.
  • CAD Data Governance: Own the integrity of the CAD database — version control, naming conventions, and data archival — and maintain company-wide CAD standards, templates, and libraries for the design team.
  • Release Management: Administer the formal engineering release flow and engineering change processes (ECN/ECO workflows), ensuring designs move from concept through production with trustworthy data at every gate.
  • ERP Integration: Work closely with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure product structures and BOMs flowing from Vault are accurately reflected in our Odoo ERP system.
  • Harness Data Integration: Help administer RapidHarness for the electrical team and integrate its wire-harness design data into the same BOM and release flow.
  • Configuration Control: Help the Director of Engineering develop configuration control processes — part numbering, revision schemes, and change workflows — as the product matures toward production.
  • Lifecycle Support: Provide day-to-day support to the design engineering team on PDM/CAD workflows, troubleshooting client, vault, and release issues so the front-end users stay productive.
  • Innovation & Research: Stay abreast of advancements in PDM/PLM technology and recommend improvements that strengthen our engineering data backbone.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $75,000 - $100,000 plus equity

Intramotev offers a comprehensive benefits package for all team members, including:

  • Medical coverage: We cover 100% of employee medical premiums, plus low-cost dental and vision options.
  • Vacation: Full-time employees enjoy unlimited paid time off.
  • Equity: Full-time employees receive equity in the company.
  • Parental leave: New parents receive paid time off to spend quality time with their family.

About You: Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on systems-administration experience.
  • 2+ years of experience administering or supporting a PDM/PLM system (Autodesk Vault, SolidWorks PDM, Windchill, Teamcenter, or similar), including server-side exposure beyond front-end use.
  • Experience working with product structures and BOMs and within formal engineering change/release processes (ECN/ECO workflows).
  • Comfort with server and client deployment and user/permission management.
  • Interest in developing configuration control processes (part numbering, revision schemes, change workflows), not just executing existing ones.
  • Willingness to expand into technical areas beyond your area of expertise; ability to develop innovative and novel approaches.
  • Open-minded and comfortable working in a teaming environment as an individual contributor.
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English.
  • U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Candidate should have a working knowledge of one or (ideally) multiple areas listed below:

  • Autodesk Vault Professional and Inventor experience specifically.
  • Configuring PDM lifecycle definitions, revision schemes, and custom properties.
  • Working front-end knowledge of a parametric CAD tool (Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar) — enough to support and troubleshoot the design team's workflows.
  • Integrating CAD/PDM data with ERP systems (specifically Odoo).
  • Experience with RapidHarness or other electrical wire-harness design tools (administering them or integrating their output data).
  • Windows Server administration, SQL Server, and scripting/automation (PowerShell, Vault API).
  • Experience in manufacturing industries, or in the Rail, Electric Vehicle (EV), or Unmanned Systems industries.
  • Experience working in Agile environments for hardware development.
  • Familiarity with PLM roadmap evaluation and vendor assessment.

Typical Education and Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through technical education (e.g. Associate and/or Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

Relocation

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
