Job description

Position Summary:

The Engineering Systems Specialist will successfully take projects from concept stage to production smoothly and efficiently. Assist in new product design and implementation by utilizing existing ERP structure or creating new structure from scratch. Provide model change assistance to update product lines and implement optimum trends. Conduct ongoing research in and outside the marine industry to keep abreast of developing trends. Work is performed under general supervision where guidelines are prescribed but independent action is required.


Job Responsibilities:


· Create, maintain, review, and audit engineering Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure accuracy and consistency with engineering and manufacturing requirements.

· Create and maintain part numbers, product structures, revisions, and related engineering data within the ERP system.

· Maintain accurate and complete product master data to support manufacturing, purchasing, planning, costing, and sales activities.

· Calculate and analyze production, labor, and material costs and provide management with information necessary to support business and operational decisions.

· Review production schedules, historical information, and manufacturing requirements to assist with planning and forecasting future needs.

· Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by ensuring BOMs, routings, part information, costs, and other required product data are accurate and production ready.

· Prepare and present relevant reports and findings during the monthly management summary meeting with the President.

· Manage the day-to-day review, coordination, execution, distribution, verification, and documentation of engineering changes (ECOs/ECNs).

· Create and maintain product configurator options, including product rules, pricing, and scripting for internal sales teams, external sales channels, and vendors.

· Coordinate vessel inspections with certified inspectors and assist with maintaining compliance with applicable USCG, ABYC, CE, and Canadian requirements.

· Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Planning, Quality, Finance, Sales, and Supply Chain to resolve product-data and manufacturing-related issues.

· Contribute to departmental and organizational objectives by completing additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.



Qualification Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field preferred.

· Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in marine industry with knowledge of production process preferred.

· Committed to quality and standards that are accepted by societies and industry.

· Must interface well with other employees and the public and be a team player

· Working Experience in Epicor/Kbmax ERP is a plus

· Working knowledge of PC based software (Word, Excel, M.S. Project, etc.)
