Software Engineering Summer Scholar 

• This Summer Scholar applies software engineeringexpertiseto design, build, andmaintainscalable, secure solutions that address complex business challenges. Collaborates across multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality applications, integrating emerging technologies such as cloud to drive innovation. Demonstrates curiosity and creativity while continuously improving development practices, ensuring reliability, performance, and user-centric design. Contributes to code reviews, automation, and best practices, fostering a culture of technical excellence and ongoing learning.

The team 

Deloitte's Government & Public Services practice serves government agencies, higher education institutions, nonprofit organizations, and other public sector organizations. Teams work across strategy, operations, technology, and transformation efforts to help clients improve mission outcomes and organizational performance. Professionals in the practice have opportunities to build specialized experience while working in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment. 

Qualifications 

Required: 

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and expected to graduate by Summer 2028 pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering/Science, Software Engineering, Majors with heavy computer languagesor a related/equivalent program 

• Strong academic track record (3.0 cumulative GPA required) 

• You must reside within a commutable distance (e.g. 100-mile radius) of your assigned office with the ability to commute daily, if required 

• Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve. 

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance 

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. 

• Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment. 

Preferred: 

• 3.4 cumulative GPA preferred 

• Internship, project, or coursework experience in computer engineering/science, software engineering, or heavy computer languages.
