Your Opportunity
An opportunity exists within Stantec's Water Sector for a Project Manager focused on Water and Wastewater Engineering to join our team in Atlanta, GA. As the successful candidate, you will use your abilities to assist in planning project execution including resourcing, budgets and schedules, prepare task orders, manage contracts, and interact and present to clients primarily in the municipal water and wastewater market sector as part of a dynamic design team.
Your Key Responsibilities
As Project Manager/ Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of successful water/wastewater municipal projects by assisting to scope and manage cost effective, practical designs and construction solutions for our clients. You will interact internally throughout the organization with staff at all levels as well as clients, members of professional organizations, subcontractors, and other firms. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Working effectively with all project team members
  • Coordinating with Senior PM's, Engineers and technical staff to ensure that project needs are met in a timely and effective manner
  • Managing project budgets, staff allocation for projects, and preparing and reviewing invoices prior to issuance to the client
  • Following established processes for obtaining necessary project approvals from various agencies
  • Preparing detailed design calculations, developing construction drawings and specifications, and overseeing design implementation.
  • Plan, organize, and manage the production of project deliverables to ensure on time delivery, technical quality and within budget - includes coordinating work efforts and the preparation of deliverables reports, client stewardship and coordinating with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Develop long-lasting partnerships with our clients, maintain positive client relationships, and understand our client's needs to facilitate full-service offerings.
  • Support and ensure implementation of Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work and coordinate with HSSE professionals during the execution of all phases of project planning and implementation.
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused to understand and appropriately respond to client's business needs.
  • Must demonstrate effective resource planning, results delivery, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state regulations and permitting requirements including the required supporting documentation.
  • Proven ability to maintain and establish effective working relationships.
  • Knowledge of documents related to requests for proposals, invitations for bid, and tendering offers.
  • Project and task management experience with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Excellent technical writing, organizational, and communications skills.
  • Efficient project management/technical leadership of assigned tasks on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong presentation and interview skills.
  • Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgement, creativity, and innovation.
  • Requisite knowledge, interpretation, and application of design and construction codes.
  • Ability to travel as needed to fill role responsibilities.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science (minimum) in Civil, Water Resources, Biological Systems, or Environmental Engineering, or other closely related degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years prior experience in a project management role.
  • Minimum of 5 years prior experience working on Water/Wastewater engineering projects.
  • Professional Licensure (P.E.) preferred. Registered in Georgia or ability to obtain reciprocity.

Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
About the Team
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
