Step into Your New Role 

As a Transportation Civil Engineering Project Manager, you will be working on innovative, multi-disciplinary roadway design projects for high-profile state agencies and large municipalities in the New England area. You will work closely with our team of civil engineers to lead and manage project tasks related to roadway design projects.

Majority of our team enjoys a hybrid schedule, which allows us to offer this role in our Boston, MA office.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage project tasks related to roadway design projects that incorporate multimodal facilities, traffic calming treatments, urban streets roadway designs and modifications, accessibility improvements, transit network upgrades, drainage assessments and designs, public and private utility coordination, and green infrastructure elements.
  • Initiating, planning, executing, monitoring submission packages to clients; including bidding (cost estimates), zoning, permitting, and construction phase services documents.
  • Prepare technical, cost, and scheduling decisions, ensuring company quality standards (including internal quality control and risk management protocols such as peer reviews), and drive customer service value.
  • Provide technical expertise on projects from the conceptual and preliminary engineering design phase to final design and occasionally beyond final design through construction services.
  • Coordinate with architects, bridge, environmental, water, geotechnical, survey, and traffic professionals, to complete multi-disciplinary project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with project managers in various aspects of roadway design, utility infrastructure design and coordination, development of construction documents, and construction support services.
  • Develop detailed civil design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and bid packages.
  • Ensure that production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Mentor project team, providing technical guidance and skill-based solutions along the way.

Requirements and qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 10 + years' experience in the design and preparation of construction contract documents for roadways.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Experience with developing roadway designs in accordance with Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT), New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) or Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) design guidelines and standards.
  • Experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MiroStation -  InRoads/OpenRoads, and AutoTURN.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in 3D roadway models, horizontal alignments, profiles, cross sections, superelevation, guardrail, grading, sidewalk/curb ramps, detours/construction signing, construction phasing, quantity takeoffs, and estimates preferred.

The expected salary range for the position is displayedin accordance withthe Massachusetts Wage Transparency Act. Finalagreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.Salary range: $116,000 - $197,000.
