Test Engineer/Operations Specialist
LOCATION: San Diego CA
JOB STATUS: Full-time
CLEARANCE: Must hold or be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance

SALARY RANGE: Estimated $80,000+ USD annually*

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Test Engineer/Operations Specialist for the USV Operations and Sustainment program supporting Astrion Navy Division.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • 5+ years experience with at-sea operations in a position of responsibility (US Navy Officer of the Deck, Tactical Action Officer, CIC Watch Officer, Warfare Coordinator, etc. or similar in the maritime industry).
  • College degree (BA or BS) preferred. Will consider AA or high school diploma for exceptionally experienced candidates.
  • Demonstrated leadership of teams during at-sea operations.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. Must be US Citizen
  • USCG Maritime license as master, mate or AB is a differentiating factor.
  • Physical ability to operate from small boats and ships.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Experience with electronic charting systems such as ECDIS.
  • Experience testing maritime systems at sea.
  • Experience developing and executing formal test plans.
  • Military or research vessel community experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with development of systems for large Unmanned Surface Vessels.
  • Draft MOVEREPs and related mission planning documentation
  • Maintain and update chart files for USV operations.
  • Draft test documentation to support test and development objectives for USV operations
  • Plan and execute testing of maritime unmanned vehicles and associated payloads.
  • Maintain post-test documentation and prepare test analysis reports and presentations as directed
  • Operate mission systems for unmanned vehicles.
  • Assist with at-sea testing of vessels; Operate and maintain small boats
