An advanced team of engineers specializes in research, development, and manufacturing of innovative commercial and industrial burners for almost any application. Combustion engineering design and support are provided for low NOx emission burners, radiant burners, surface burners, and waste gas abatement systems. With multiple surface technologies to offer, our products define the future of clean combustion.

We are looking for a qualified engineering department manager with over 10 years of relevant experience to manage, prioritize, and support engineering projects that provide burner systems for a variety of heating and waste-gas treatment applications.

Position Summary

The Engineering Operations Manager serves as the primary coordinator between customers, engineering, and production operations to ensure the successful execution of manufacturing and technology development programs. This role focuses on program management, customer engagement, cross-functional project execution, and leadership of the engineering technical design team. The position includes high-level oversight of quoting, supply chain, and quality system activities, working closely with support personnel responsible for day-to-day execution while ensuring these functions effectively support customer and business objectives.

Collaborating with executive management, the Plant Manager, and the President, this position plays a key role in translating business opportunities into successful product delivery and operational results.

The ideal candidate is an experienced engineering professional who excels at organizing complex projects, coordinating diverse teams, and building strong customer relationships. They possess a practical understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain management, quality systems, and commercialization processes, enabling them to effectively drive projects from opportunity assessment through production while leveraging the expertise of technical specialists within the organization for detailed engineering decisions. Familiarity with thermal sciences, combustion systems, or related energy technologies is desirable and would be considered a strong asset.

Primary Responsibilities

Program & Project Management

• Lead cross-functional programs for combustion systems development and products, from quotation through production launch and customer acceptance.

• Coordinate activities among engineering for the design, development, and validation of combustion hardware: burner elements, gas trains, air-fuel mixers.

• Develop and maintain project schedules, action item tracking, project budgets, and product deliverables.

• Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and communicate project status to management and customers.

• Oversee customer engagement, quotation development, commercialization activities, and project execution, ensuring alignment between customer requirements and company capabilities.

Executive & Strategic Support

• Recruit, develop, mentor, and evaluate the performance of Engineering team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Work closely with the Plant Manager, Controller, and President to support strategic

planning and execution of company objectives.

• Participate in evaluation of new business opportunities, manufacturing capabilities, and resource requirements.

• Provide program status updates, operational metrics, and risk assessments to company

leadership.

• Support decision-making related to project prioritization, capital investments, capacity planning, and growth initiatives.

• Assist leadership in developing and implementing continuous improvement and

operational excellence initiatives.

Manufacturing & Operational Support

• Coordinate manufacturing readiness activities for new products and customer programs.

• Facilitate and support development of manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and process controls.

• Support Plant Manager with manufacturing quality issues through coordination of technical resources.

• Collaborate and drive continuous improvement initiatives with internal teams focused on quality, delivery, and operational efficiency.

• Provide leadership and oversight for quality system, supply chain, and production planning activities, leveraging cross-functional team members responsible for day-to-day execution to support successful program delivery and customer satisfaction.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field.

• Strong technical skills in thermal engineering, fluid mechanics, mechanical design is a

plus.

• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, engineering program management, or operations, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems without necessarily

being the primary technical expert.

• Experience preparing quotations, cost estimates, and project plans.

• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and audit processes is a plus.

• Demonstrated customer-facing experience and strong communication skills.

• Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
