Position Summary

The Sr. Director, Engineering Management - Digital Agents & Integrationsis responsible forbuilding, leading, and developing the engineering team that delivers McKesson's digital agent and integration capabilities for the contact center technology portfolio. This role leads engineers working within the conversational AI platform to develop digital agent reference models across voice, chat, and email channels, and the integration engineering team building andmaintaininginterfaces between the digital agent platform,CCaaSplatforms, CRM systems, and enterprise systems of record. The position manages a blended delivery model that includes employees and embedded vendor engineers.

This leader is accountable for team performance, talent development, hiring, engineering practice maturity, and capacity planning. The Sr. Director partners with solution architects on technical direction, service managers on delivery priorities, and transformation program leadership on resource allocation. By championing AI-enabled engineering practices, fostering a culture of technical excellence, and ensuring security and compliance standards are embedded in engineering workflows, this leader ensures the digital agent and integration engineering function delivers the quality, velocity, and innovation required to support McKesson's enterprise contact center strategy.

  • Own capacity planning and resource allocation across digital agent and integration engineering, balancing transformation delivery demands with steady-state operational needs
  • Coordinate with solution architects on technical direction for the conversational AI platform, integration architecture, and agent design patterns across voice, chat, and email channels
  • Ensure delivery velocity and quality for digital agent reference model development, integration builds, and platform enhancements aligned with the service roadmap
  • Manage vendor engineering relationships at the execution level, ensuring embedded vendor engineers deliver expected value and platformexpertisewhilemaintainingknowledge continuity
  • Champion the adoption of AI-enabled engineering practices across the team, including AI copilots for development, AI-driven testing and quality assurance, and intelligent automation of engineering workflows
  • Foster an engineering culture that attracts andretainstop talent through investment in developer experience, technical community building, and continuous learning opportunities
  • Ensure engineering practices meet McKesson's security, compliance, and regulatory requirements, embedding security-by-design principles into development workflows and platform configurations

Critical Skills

  • Proven leadership experience building and managing engineering teams of 5+ engineers in software development, platform engineering, or systems integration environments
  • Strong understanding of conversational AI platforms, digital agent design, or AI/ML-powered product engineering, with familiarity with platforms such as Google CCAI, Amazon Lex, or similar
  • Experience managing blended delivery models that combine internal engineering talent with embedded vendor or partner engineering resources
  • Extensive experience leading engineering teams responsible for platform engineering, AI-powered applications, or enterprise integration development.
  • Knowledge of integration patterns, API design, and data flows across multi-platform technology ecosystems (CRM,CCaaS, AI platforms, systems of record)
  • Applied AI fluency - active use of AI assistants (Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT) and engineering automation tools, withdemonstratedability to drive AI adoption across engineering teams to improve velocity and quality
  • Strong talent development skills including hiring, performance management, career pathing, and building high-performing engineering cultures with strong developer experience
  • Experience with Agile/DevOps engineering practices, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering performance metrics (deployment frequency, change failure rate, mean time to recovery)

Nice To Have -

  • Understanding of security and compliance requirements in regulated industries, with experience embedding security practices into engineering workflows
  • Experience managing vendor engineering partnerships and blended delivery models in enterprise environments.
  • Experience in healthcare technology or other regulated industries is preferred.
