Our client is a leading player in the global cannabis industry looking to hire a Senior Manager of Engineering who will play a critical leadership role in executing capital and operational excellence projects across multiple Canadian facilities. The Role:
As Senior Manager, Engineering, you'll lead a cross-functional engineering project management team responsible for the planning, prioritization, budgeting, and execution of site-level engineering initiatives. Your expertise will help ensure the continued growth, compliance, and operational excellence of multiple facilities across Canada.

  • Lead and manage capital project planning and execution across Canadian operations.
  • Collaborate with local and remote teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Oversee contractor management, project documentation, and stakeholder communication (timelines, RACI charts, budgets, risk logs, etc.).
  • Work closely with site leadership and senior engineering management to develop long-term capital investment strategies.
  • Evaluate proposals, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and support the procurement of equipment and services.
  • Identify, scope, and prioritize capacity expansion and productivity initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and strategic direction to a national engineering team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive professional development, conduct performance evaluations, and implement best-in-class project controls.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, local codes, and internal policies.
  • Partner with compliance and quality teams to prepare for audits and resolve any regulatory issues.
  • Stay informed about evolving regulatory standards affecting cannabis operations.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; P.Eng designation required (Master's degree an asset).
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in maintenance/engineering within industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale capital projects and engineering initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks
  • Willingness to support flexible scheduling and on-site presence during critical project phases.
  • Ability to travel across Canada
