Position: Senior Inspector – NJ DCA

Reports to: Department Manager and/or Project Manager


General Qualities:

- Qualified NJ DCA Certified Special Inspector to support inspection services on construction projects throughout New Jersey.

- This role is responsible for ensuring that all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications, while maintaining the highest levels of safety and quality.

- 3–9 years of relevant inspection experience


Technical Duties & Responsibilities:

- Perform field inspections in accordance with NJ DCA regulations, project specifications, and applicable building codes

- Inspect construction activities including structural steel, welding, concrete, masonry, and fireproofing

- Verify compliance with approved plans, submittals, and contract documents

- Identify and report non-conforming work and coordinate corrective actions

- Prepare and submit detailed daily inspection reports and documentation

- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders to ensure quality and compliance

- Maintain accurate and organized records of all inspections performed

Requirements:

Education\ Certifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering (preferred)

- Structural Welding

- Structural Steel & Bolting

- Reinforced Concrete

- Structural Masonry

- Spray-Applied Fireproofing

- NJ DCA Special Inspector – Concrete Placement

- NJ DCA Special Inspector – Prestressed Concrete

- NJ DCA Special Inspector – Soils

- Nuclear Gauge Safety Certification (U.S. Department of Transportation)

- OSHA 30 Certification


Physical Requirement:

- Ability to pass a physical exam for full mobility

- Capable of lifting and/or moving up to 50lbs carrying, and transporting equipment, samples, and materials

- Comfortable navigating active construction sites, including ladders, scaffolding, and uneven terrain

- Willingness to work in varying site conditions and project environments
