INFRA TECH ENGINEERING isseeking to fill a Civil Construction Inspector on-site positionfor the NJ Marine Terminal Facility in Elizabeth, NJ (PANYNJ).

JOB OVERVIEW

Construction Management, Inspection, and Closeout Services for structural, civil, electrical, and mechanical construction projects associated with the Tenant Construction and Application Program (TCAP). Services include providing construction oversight, field inspection, technical coordination, quality assurance, and administrative support to ensure tenant projects are completed in accordance with approved plans and specifications, applicable permits and codes, safety requirements, and Port standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performconstruction inspection activities throughout all phases of the project.
  • Preparedaily narratives, special inspection reports, time-and-material records,and unit price documentation.
  • Identifypotential extra work issues and notify the Resident Engineer/AssistantResident Engineer.
  • Prepareextra work estimates and supporting documentation.
  • Reviewplans for constructability and provide comments.
  • Reviewcontractor payment requests and recommend reasonableness.
  • Coordinateinspections at multiple work locations.
  • Performquality assurance inspections of completed work.
  • Verifycompliance with safety requirements.
  • Coordinatework activities, closures, and utility shutdowns with Operations andMaintenance staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:

  • Minimum of 10 years ofexperience inspecting construction work varying in size (projects rangingfrom $500K to $5M+) and complexity (multiple crews and crew sizes pershift).
  • Ability to read andinterpret construction plans, specifications, and contractdocuments.
  • Must be able tosuccessfully obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker IdentificationCredential (TWIC), badge, including passing all required securitythreat assessments, fingerprint-based criminal history records checks, andbackground investigations.
  • Experience preparingdaily reports, inspection reports, and contract documentation.
  • Experience reviewingcontractor payment applications and documenting extra work.
  • Ability to coordinatewith contractors, Resident Engineers, and facility personnel.
  • Working knowledgeofconstruction safety requirements.
  • Possess a valid driver’slicense.
  • Willing to work weekendsand night shifts when required.
