Job description

Job Title:         Operations Supervisor

Client:             Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Location:         Dubuque, IA 52001
Duration:         12 Months
Shift:                3rd Shift (10:30 PM – 6:00 AM, some Saturdays required)

Description:

• Supervise production and/or maintenance employees on assigned shift
• Ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are met
• Act as liaison between shop floor employees and management
• Assign daily work schedules, staffing, and overtime as needed
• Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions
• Ensure training, tools, and work instructions are available for employees
• Support preventive maintenance and equipment uptime initiatives
• Drive continuous improvement, 5S, and operational efficiency
• Monitor budgets, control plans, and production quality standards
• Support safety programs, SERA process, and near-miss reporting

Required Skills:

• 2+ years experience in union manufacturing environment
• Experience in production, quality, or operations supervision
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle performance management and corrective actions
• Experience working under pressure in fast-paced environments
• Cross-functional coordination skills (engineering, HR, supply chain)
• Knowledge of manufacturing and quality management principles

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with John Deere production control systems
