  • Salary Range: For positions located in Reston, Virginia, the anticipated base salary range is $106,900–$154,700 annually (salary range is based on market data; final salary offered is determined by education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant). Compensation for positions in other approved work locations may vary based on geographic market factors and applicable salary schedules.

Project Overview:

Job Summary:

In this role, you will manage a team and provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover and subcontracts. Your oversight will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. 

Major Responsibilities:
  • On a small to medium job, performs the duties of a lead engineer in either an area, coordinating and directing a variety of disciplines, or as a Deputy Project Field Engineer, coordinating all activities related to the operation of assigned operating section 

Leadership/Supervision 

  • Proactively engages with their teams’ development through CPM, competency development/assessment and feedback  
  • Leads in a broad range of construction engineering work within a specific engineering discipline.   

Work Planning & Packaging 

  • Coordinates with design on constructability issues.   

Material Management  

  • Directs the preparation of requisitions for field procured materials, material substitution, services, and equipment.  

Quantities 

  • Possesses responsibility for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting.   

Safety / Quality Control 

  • Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely. 

System Turnover Coordinator   

For Direct Hire:  

  • Possesses responsibility for coordinating between construction and startup to ensure the various system walkdowns are performed, interfacing with the startup specialist as required to support component/system turnover and assuming responsibility (as required) for area turnover coordination as determined by the PFE. 

STR / Subcontract Coordinator  

  • Reviews and approves inspection test plans  
  • Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals  
Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9 -12 years of relevant work experience
