Overview:

The Electrical Engineer will be the focal point for all for all discipline governance, advice, and support within the defined sphere of electrical engineering expertiseacross Gulf of Mexico assets

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Endorsing the relevant technical sections of the key Company Governance Documents including Project Execution Plans, Basis of Design, Asset Reference Plans etc.
  • Applying subject expertise in evaluating business operations and processes.
  • Identifying areas where technical solutions would improve business performance.
  • Consulting across business operations, providing mentorship, and contributing specialized knowledge.
  • Carrying out failure investigation for all electrical systems and issue investigation reports with corrective and preventive actions for Maintenance and Operations to prevent recurrence
  • Preparing and issuing inspection reports with corrective and preventive actions for Maintenance and Operation.
  • Contributing in the following:
    • Issue technical study & engineering packages to ensure that the electrical protection and safe guarding systems are adequate to support plant operations
    • Prepare material requisition specifications
    • Inspect new electrical components and equipment at manufacturers prior to delivery
    • Witness Factory Acceptance Test, commission and start-up of new electrical systems
  • Communicate with vendors on technical issues and reviewing vendor specifications
  • Share in/Supervise the Electrical Inspection activities
  • Arbitrating, determining, and records technical interpretation on the meaning and /or intent of a standard and specification. The impact of such interpretations on cost and schedule as well as technical integrity could require consultation with Project Managers and other discipline Technical Authorities
  • Representative for relevant technical matters with external bodies such as vendors, contractors, national approval agencies and stakeholders
  • Participating in technical integrity processes audit and reviews, including HAZID, HAZOPS, safety critical reviews, design, constructability and operability reviews, FAT commissioning and start-up tests
  • Reviewing as built documentation.
  • Providing optimization input and develop analysis of existing electrical facilities to debottleneck facilities and create scopes of work for debottlenecking of facilities.
  • Approving operation outside design envelopes.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • High-level knowledge of electrical engineering software systems.
  • Advanced technical skills.
  • Analytical thinker.
  • Minimum 20 years of experience in electrical engineering
  • Offshore oil and gas experience preferred.
