Summary
DOWL is looking for a seasoned Lead Civil Engineer to join our Reno office as a Project Manager and team leader. If you thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy mentoring junior staff, and have experience navigating local agency permitting and development standards, this is your opportunity to take your career to the next level. You'll lead multi-disciplinary teams through planning, design, permitting, and construction, while also playing a key role in business development and client engagement. The Civil Project Engineer/Manager is responsible for performing complicated calculations and comprehensive design services for a variety of complex civil engineering and site development projects with no oversight. This position affords you the opportunity to gain experience and advance professionally, serving as a project manager, lead civil engineer, mentor for junior team members, and participant in the development of business and project opportunities. You'll also enjoy engagement with other senior team members/management in the office and throughout our company.

  • The usual office and site civil design software (e.g., MS Office, AutoCAD).
  • Preparation of SD, DD and Construction Documents and permit applications. Project Specifications experience is a bonus.
  • Project budgeting, scheduling, workflow, communications. QA/QC experience is a bonus.
  • Client management and communications. Proposal development is a bonus.

Must have...
  • PE registration in Nevada, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience, demonstrating a successful progression of responsibilities.
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited higher education institution.
  • Three (3) professional references and examples of prior completed work product.
  • Driving is an essential job function or a valid driver's license is required to support legitimate business purposes
