Engineering Manager 
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for injection molding and encapsulation process development and manufacturing scale-up. The role combines technical leadership in process engineering with people management, project delivery, and cross-functional collaboration. The Engineering Manager will drive process improvements, oversee product transfers to volume production, and mentor engineers to deliver cost-effective, safe, and scalable manufacturing solutions.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and grow a multi-disciplinary engineering team focused on injection molding and encapsulation process development, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Develop, optimize and document robust injection molding and encapsulation processes, including mold design input, cycle optimization, material selection, and tooling validation.
  • Plan and manage engineering projects from concept through transfer to production, including schedules, budgets, risk mitigation and supplier coordination.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to enable product launches, continuous improvement, and root-cause analysis for production issues.
  • Implement process control, statistical monitoring and quality systems to ensure consistent product performance and compliance with industry standards.
  • Drive cost reduction and efficiency initiatives through design for manufacturability, automation opportunities, and waste reduction (Lean/Six Sigma methodologies).
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements related to materials, equipment and manufacturing processes.
  • Recruit, develop and retain engineering talent; set performance goals, conduct reviews and build a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
  • Provide technical leadership on encapsulation technologies, polymer behavior, potting/overmolding techniques and interface with tooling vendors and manufacturing partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Plastics, Materials or Manufacturing Engineering required; Masters preferred.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in process engineering with significant exposure to injection molding and/or encapsulation/overmolding technologies.
  • People management experience leading engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with mold design considerations, tool trials, polymer material selection, and process validation.
  • Strong leadership, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills with a track record of driving projects to on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Familiarity with quality systems (ISO, IPC or similar), statistical process control, DOE, and root-cause analysis tools.
  • Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies to manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to travel to suppliers and manufacturing sites as needed.
