ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Process Engineer to develop and implement processes on equipment supporting new or legacy products. Lead continuous improvement initiatives including safety, product quality, scrap and cost reduction, efficiency, and machine utilization. This role provides manufacturing process control expertise and process engineering support to manufacturing operations and other functional departments at the assigned site. The ideal candidate has working knowledge of process engineering practices, structured Six Sigma problem-solving tools, and strong analytical, organizational, communication, and project management skills.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Work closely with Dept leaders and teammates to improve safety performance, quality, and productivity, and to reduce scrap rate, downtime, and cost.
  • Support evaluation and qualification of process parameters, equipment, and materials; support implementation of process control plans and PFMEA under guidance from the Operations and Quality Manager.
  • Update and maintain manufacturing process procedures; perform technical studies and process characterization/optimization; document and monitor process performance and consistency.
  • Conduct SPC analysis to assess results for applicability, validity, and conformance to product specifications; monitor process specs and tolerances against standard.
  • Provide training and technical support to manufacturing teams to resolve quality and production issues and improve throughput; lead problem-solving investigations and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI), qualifications, automation efforts, plant trials, and capability studies under direction of the Operations Manager; own Six Sigma process variation reduction projects at the site level.
  • Investigate quality issues and customer complaints; interface with the Quality function on corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, and other stakeholders on assigned projects.
  • Work independently and in cross-functional teams; support Six Sigma continuous improvement and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Reinforce the site safety culture and hold personal accountability for good safety practice.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental
    policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

Success Measures
  • Improvement in scrap rate and cost of quality on assigned product line(s)
  • Timely closure of problem-solving investigations and corrective actions
  • Completion of assigned Six Sigma projects on schedule
  • Process consistency against SPC control limits and product specifications
  • Routine Process Control Plan audits for improvements

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Working knowledge of process engineering, process control, and project management.
  • Strong structured, data-driven problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Minitab experience a plus.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred), Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 2-4 years of experience in plant manufacturing operations; experience in the relevant manufacturing process a plus.
  • Lean Six Sigma problem-solving tool experience (DMAIC, Process Mapping, Pareto Chart, 5-Whys, 5S, Fishbone Diagram, Cause & Effect); Green Belt a plus.
  • Demonstrated interest or early track record in continuous improvement and process control.

Work Environment & Travel
  • Role is based in a manufacturing plant environment with regular exposure to production floor conditions; standard PPE required in designated areas.
  • No regular travel required; occasional single-day site visits may be requested.

Additional Requirements
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
  • Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
