Your work environment at EXP

EXP is searching for an Electrical Engineer (Buildings) to join our Mechanical/Electrical team at our Calgary, AB office. The successful applicant will be joining a diverse engineering group in Western Canada poised for growth and challenging opportunities well into the future.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Responsible for meeting firm's engineering quality levels for discipline on assigned projects.
  • Develop the Basis of Design (BOD), Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD) and Construction Documents (CD) that meet the project requirements within the allocated schedule and budget and use best practices.
  • Develop design concepts and ensure proper application and execution.
  • Act as single point of contact with client project managers for project scope definition, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Verify work quality regarding specifications, reports, code application, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings.
  • Have a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts to execute all required aspects of discipline engineering.
  • Manages work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours.
  • Mentors and encourages development of Designer level staff.
  • Writes studies and reports on electrical system work.
  • Contributes to revisions of EXP's design standards and master specifications.
  • Responsible for applying risk management practices to all projects.

What your experience looks like

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in the Electrical Engineering field.
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical  Engineering or equivalent degree.
  • Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.) products and electrical design software.
  • Auto CAD experience required and REVIT MEP proficiency desired.
