The Opportunity

The Department of Physical Sciences at the Daytona Beach Campus seeks applicants for the position of Lab Manager. This position provides essential support to the department in the maintenance, use, and development of its teaching and research laboratory equipment. This individual is responsible for ensuring the smooth function of the department's teaching labs and assists both faculty and students in the development and implementation of new research capabilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing laboratory equipment and electronics (oscilloscopes, power supplies, optics, detectors, vacuum systems, instrumentation, etc.).

  • Supporting faculty and staff in developing, setting up, and adapting experiments for teaching and research.

  • Overseeing laboratory safety procedures in collaboration with faculty and the university's safety office.

  • Coordinating with vendors for service and procurement of parts and supplies.

  • Providing technical training and guidance for faculty, graduate teaching assistants, and students as needed.
