2nd shift Opportunity

GT Industries, Inc. is seeking Controls Engineer in North Vernon, IN.

  • Responsible for performing tasks required for developing & designing equipment used, such as production machinery, assembly equipment & the facility.
  • Responsible for ensuring safe operation of all equipment, & improving hard wiring, & programming to support all MOS metrics.
  • Support maintenance members on emergency downtime situations & participate in the training of maintenance personnel.
  • Responsible for ensuring process improvements are consistent with MPG machine build standards.
  • Responsible for 5s initiatives, & maintaining an excellent appearance within the facility.
  • Participate in councils or task forces to support plant operations.
  • Supports production in all metrics related to being a world-class producer of metal stampings & assemblies.
  • Create a remote Performance Management System to monitor machine performance & identify process deficiencies within the assembly, adhesive, welding, & stamping applications.
  • Identify process applications below performance metrics & implement PLC logic programming to improve process efficiencies for all work orders within assembly, adhesive, welding & stamping applications.
  • Create motivational programming prompts globally in all HMI displays to promote operator awareness & create a sense of urgency in reducing machine "wait" time.
  • Act as PLC Programming Subject Matter Expert (SME) & trainer for all Engineering & Maintenance personnel.
  • Lead launch activities related to NEW product implementation & Engineering Change Requests.
  • Act as Project Lead for field inspection of tool shop contract work (TSRO) to maintain consistency in program logic protocols & adherence to MPG Engineering Controls Standards.
  • Investigate PLC program logic & identify opportunities in all processes for cost reduction, throughput, cycle time & efficiency continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Support production to: produce quality parts that meet/exceed customers expectation through continuous improvement; meet/exceed established efficiency goals & other MOS measurable; setting up & operating machinery & equipment in a safe manner in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of the manufacturing process, methods, & work environment through trouble shooting & problem solving exercises.
  • Uses PLC Programming, monitor machine performance, implement new equipment & improve controls to improve cycle times.
  • Use of Microsoft, Studio 5000, RS Linx, C-more EA 9, COHERIX, Power Flex, Panel View, Bosch 6000, IPG Laser Net, RLSK Studio.

Requires: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or related field & 2 years of Controls Engineer or related experience.
