Job description

Lube Technician Duties and Responsibilities:
Lube Technicians are the face of a vehicle servicing company, facilitating maintenance and repairs on vehicles for customers as they come into the shop. Their duties and responsibilities include:
  • Draining the oil from a vehicle and replacing it to manufacturer specifications.
  • Topping off other fluids, including brake, power steering and windshield wiper fluid.
  • Inspecting the engine block and underbody for leaks and potential issues.
  • Performing multi point inspection.
  • Checking tire pressure and filling tires with air as needed to manufacturer specifications.
  • Installing new car parts, such as air filters, oil filters, windshield wipers and batteries.
  • Lubricating moving parts as necessary, including those in the engine and wheel bearings and ensuring the engine is kept clean throughout servicing.
  • Diagnosing existing issues and consulting with lead mechanics on the team to address the vehiclesโ€™ issues.
  • Creating detailed service reports for customers.
  • An aptitude for mechanical diagnosis and repair.
  • Demonstrated experience with servicing vehicles.
  • A valid drivers license and the ability to work legally in the US.
  • Time management and organizational skills as well as hand-eye coordination.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • The physical ability to perform all tasks related to the position of Lube Technician, such as bending and reaching, standing for long periods of time and lifting over 60 pounds.
