Job description

Manual Machinist – Bridgeport Mill & Engine Lathe

Pay: $20–$23 per hour depending on experience


This position is for experienced machinists who have hands-on experience operating manual milling machines and engine lathes in a machine shop environment.


Applicants with only CNC machining experience or classroom training will not be considered.


Requirements

• Experience operating manual milling machines such as Bridgeport mills

• Experience operating manual engine lathes

• Ability to read blueprints and machining drawings

• Experience measuring parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers

• Reliable transportation to work


Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual milling machines and engine lathes

• Machine metal components according to blueprints and specifications

• Measure parts to ensure proper tolerances and quality standards

• Select cutting tools and machining methods for production tasks

• Maintain safe operation of machining equipment


Work Environment

This position operates in a machine shop environment working with manual machining equipment, cutting tools, and precision measuring instruments.


Preferred Experience
