Job Summary
We are looking for an ENGINE BUILDER to join our successful family owned business of 35 years. We've expanded our facility another 35,000 square feet, and need another great BUILDER to join our amazing crew.
As an Engine Builder, you will be responsible for assembly of engines, including cleaning, measuring, inspecting engines and digitally documenting the build. An Engine Builder will be responsible for running a SIM test machine to quality test the long block. We understand not many builders have worked with our specific machines, so fully expect to train employees in these different operations, and we will provide that. You will need to have experience with different measuring tools, but all assembly and measuring tools will be provided. We are the most well equipped shop in the state of Utah, and build engines for install in our shop, plus crate engines that we ship out across the country. We stay busy, as we're a well established business, plus have nearly 5 million online followers, which gives us a wide reach to sell engines and engine work.
We looking for someone that is confident, has a great attitude, works well with a team, and that has at least 1-2 years of engine building experience.

Responsibilities
  • Use your expertise to aid our machine shop in the process of building engines
  • Be filmed while building engines to continue to grow our social media, and keep the machine shop busy
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business by building the highest quality diesel and gasoline engines
  • We're after 3-5 engines built a week

Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of prior machine shop experience, or previous schooling is preferred
  • AERA certification provides additional increase in pay

We have a full compliment of state-of-the-art equipment from frame racks to high-tech CNC tooling machines that enable us to fix your vehicle to better than new condition. Dave's Auto Center is the best equipped and most highly trained auto shop in Utah.
MEET DAVE
At only fifteen years of age, Dave started fixing cars in southern Florida for a taxi cab and limo company in 1975. Besides throwing a paper route, its the only job he has ever done. He worked for many different dealerships, mostly European and Japanese imports, before opening his first shop in 1990. He started in an unheated storage shed and the business has grown into a state of the art facility with a 25 bay repair shop and full auto machine shop in Centerville.
Dave is an ASE master mechanic with over 35 years experience fixing cars and helping people. He holds a master machinist certificate and is a long standing member of ASA and AAA.
Growing up in Florida gave Dave a love of the ocean that has never waned. He loves to tournament fish and has done it all his life. The palm trees in front of the shop are his way of bringing a little bit of Florida to Utah.
