Job description

At the University of Iowa Center for Advancement, our mission is to advance the University of Iowa through engagement and philanthropy. The Systems Analyst supports organizational operations through the administration, configuration, customization, implementation, and maintenance of UICA's technology applications. This role partners with business stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities, optimize application performance, and ensure technology solutions effectively support organizational objectives. The Systems Analyst is responsible for maintaining the overall effectiveness, reliability, and performance of our applications.
*This position is eligible for hybrid work (telecommuting) which includes working on-site at our office in Iowa City.*
Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain enterprise application environments, including user access management, security settings, and system configuration.
  • Design, develop, and manage application customizations to enhance functionality and meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business and system requirements to support process optimization and system improvements.
  • Oversee all aspects of user and license management, including account provisioning and deprovisioning, role administration, profiles, and permissions.
  • Monitor system performance, proactively identify issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain operational stability.
  • Coordinate the planning, testing, and deployment of system enhancements and updates within production environments.
  • Assist with developing and executing testing scenarios to validate system functionality and performance.
  • Deliver user training and develop comprehensive documentation, including user guides, procedures, and support materials.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with software vendors and service providers to remain informed of product enhancements and emerging technologies.
  • Consult with business stakeholders to assess operational needs, recommend technology solutions, and develop application roadmaps aligned with organizational goals.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and evolving technologies relevant to enterprise applications and systems management.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology staff and end users to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve application and system issues.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of organizational standards for technology-related processes, communications, documentation, and project delivery.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in systems administration, business systems analysis, application support, or a related technology discipline.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and professional experience may be considered.

Preferred:
  • Salesforce experience, including Salesforce Administrator Certification and/or Marketing Cloud Engagement Administrator Certification.
