ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Variable Print Programmer, is responsible for transforming computer data into a print-ready format. In this role, you’ll develop and maintain data-to-print programs, create and manage templates, map data, and generate supporting reports.

You’ll collaborate closely with data, project management, and production teams to ensure accuracy, quality, and successful delivery of client objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform programming and support activities, including coding, scripting, creation of more efficient language, processing routines, reporting generators, and perform database management as needed.
  • Create and maintain data to print programs, setting up templates and mapping matrices.
  • Analyze client-supplied data prior to job processing.
  • Review provided job processing instructions to verify that the existing data set can be expressed as requested.
  • Use the appropriate software programs (including Adobe CC, OLConnect, and Enfocus Switch) and utilities to accurately complete the work.
  • Oversee inkjet and digital address layouts.
  • Coordinate job processing flow with operators and other manufacturing teams to promote the best workflow.
  • Review list and data process for quality-control purposes.
  • Communicate with the appropriate departments to provide job status information.
  • Adhere to established quality-control procedures.
  • Complete all paperwork and reports for downstream work centers and departments.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least three (3) years of experience in data processing and programming.
  • Experience with SQL and Python.
  • Experience with variable data printing or document composition tools (e.g., PSL, OL Connect, or similar platforms)
  • Experience with PSL preferred; willingness to learn and transition to OL Connect required
  • Familiarity with legacy systems such as FoxPro and BCC is a plus, but not required
  • Experience with print production tools preferred.
  • May be required to complete and pass Public Trust Security Clearance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged sitting and extensive data entry and typing

  • Flexibility in work hours may be required. Overtime hours will be needed during peak season and on time-sensitive projects.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is predominantly held in a clerical environment but may need to work on the production floor.

  • This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
