JOB PURPOSE:

The role of the Hydronics Apprentice is to support the installation of geothermal heating systems for high-end custom residential and commercial clients. At Energy 1, our passion is to Demand Better. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will report to the Hydronics Manager and will serve as a critical member of the construction team. Specific job duties:

  • Perform skilled installation of geothermal heating systems in a timely manner.
  • Communicate schedule/needs/materials w/Project Lead.
  • Read and follow plans, communicate with the construction team, take direction from Project Lead, and perform other related duties.
  • Keep job site clean and organized.
  • Perform layout and rough-in on the job.
  • Practice daily safety needs/requirements.
  • Apply building codes, ordinances, and regulations of State and Local authorities.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Must hold a valid Driver's License.
  • Possess tools and equipment applicable to the Hydronics trade or be willing to acquire within 6 months.
  • Must be organized and dependable.
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Preferred: Prior experience in geothermal heating systems or construction.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: talk and hear others both physically present and on the telephone; sit and stand; move, use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects over 50 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • The physical environment requires the employee to typically work outside or in cold weather. This position will require travel to multiple E1 sites on a daily basis as the need arises. Arrive at the shop by 7am, gather required material/tools, check in with the Department Manager, and leave for the job site by 7:30am daily.
  • This position is located in Jackson, WY with responsibilities for additional locations.
  • This FLSA non-exempt position may be requested to work overtime and weekends on occasion.
