Description

As part of the Energy 1 team, the HVAC Fabricator/Shop Support position will be in charge of building ductwork for high-end custom residential and commercial HVAC systems. In addition, as Shop Support this position will ensure efficient functioning of the Energy 1 Bozeman MT shop. At Energy 1, our passion is to Demand Better. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

This position will report to the HVAC Manager and will serve as a critical member of the HVAC and construction team.  


Specific job duties: 

  • Operate CNC plasma cutter to cut sheet metal for ductwork fabrication. 
  • Cut, bend, and shape sheet metal to required dimensions using shear, brake, Pittsburgh, and other ductwork fabrication tools.  
  • Fasten joints and seams in sheet metal with solder, welds, caulk, bolts, and metal driver clips, ensuring work is done carefully and bonds will last 
  • Maintains clean and orderly workspace. 
  • Read plans, communicate with the install team.  
  • Apply standard/best practices of the HVAC trade. 
  • Receive, inventory, and distribute shipments. 
  • Safely load, transport, and deliver tools and material from shop/vendors to jobsites in Bozeman and Big Sky. 
  • Assist with prefab and small mechanical projects. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • HS Diploma or equivalent. 
  • Must hold a valid Driver's License and acceptable MVR.
  • Preferred: OSHA Forklift certification and/or trainer certification? 
  • Preferred: Trailer experience 
  • Preferred: Prior shop experience 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: talk and hear others both physically present and on the telephone; sit and stand; move, use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects over 50 pounds. 


WORKING CONDITIONS: 


  • The physical environment requires the employee to typically work in all conditions. This position will require travel to multiple E1 sites on a regular basis as the need arises. 
  • This position is located in Bozeman MT, with responsibilities for additional locations.  
  • This FLSA non-exempt position may be requested to work overtime and weekends on occasion.
