Overview:
Overview: The Lead Energy Modeler will assist the Energy Modeling Manager by reviewing assigned work products for accuracy and completeness. Create detailed design drawings using CAD software and perform energy modeling analysis for residential structures using whole building analysis programs such as Ekotrope and EnergyPro. The Energy Modeler will collaborate closely with members of the design team to produce accurate, high-quality designs that meet project requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
• Perform energy modeling and CAD drafting tasks in accordance with established standards and procedures.
• Coordinate assigned work with the Energy Modeling Manager to meet project schedules.
• Prepare and update regulatory and compliance documentation as directed.
• Remain informed of relevant software updates and modeling techniques.
• Provide technical input and assistance to other CAD personnel as requested (no supervisory authority).
• Assist with documentation related to new product development activities under the direct guidance of the Energy Modeling Manager.
• Work with other departments as necessary to complete assigned documentation in accordance with project schedules.
• Participate in pilot projects and initial production runs by preparing drawings and ratings for review.
• Develop assembly drawings for complex assemblies with multi-layered bills of materials utilizing CAD software.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
• Complete assigned tasks and deliverables as defined by the Energy Modeling Manager.
• Support coordination efforts related to certificates and documentation with other departments.
• Process Change Requests/Revisions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensure CAD attributes are accurate and maintained in the system.
• Maintain working knowledge of departmental policies and procedures.
• Provide documentation support to other departments such as marketing, sales, and engineering as required.
• Assist sales with new product conception, design, and layout under supervision.
• Suggest improvements to processes and procedures for consideration by management.
• Demonstrate adherence to safety policies and procedures.
• Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Reports to: Energy Modeling Manager
Requirements
Education, Experience and Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Architectural, Drafting, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • HERS Rater, Energy Star, DOE, Multifamily and Commercial Certification
  • 4+ years of related work experience
  • Construction and energy modeling experience
  • Effective communication skills with customers, clients, and colleagues
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to follow established procedures and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
  • Commitment to maintaining certifications and staying current on industry advancements
