Description
An Encoder/Baggage Jammer Technician is responsible for delivering luggage and clearing baggage jams in the airport baggage handling system (BHS). May also be responsible for scanning bags in the manual encode station, pushing stacks of tubs, and straightening bags on the conveyor as necessary.
Basic duties include (but not limited):
  • Delivering luggage to multiple locations across the BHS as necessary
  • Clearing baggage jams and ensuring proper placement of baggage on BHS system to ensure proper function
  • Communicating baggage jam corrections and luggage assignment updates timely
  • Properly scanning baggage as necessary
  • Proper use of manual code station
  • Working as a team to ensure success of entire BHS

Requirements:
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, efficiently and effectively
  • Must be able to work with a sense of urgency
  • Must be able to multi-task and problem solve

Hours & Compensation:
10 hour Shifts/ 40 Hours/ 4 Days Per Week
