FTOs oversee on-the-job training, provide mentorship, and ensure that trainees meet operational and clinical standards. They play a critical role in maintaining high-quality patient care and safety by guiding new staff through real-world emergencies and protocols. FTOs also provide feedback, assess performance, and help new EMTs transition into independent roles.
