An EMS (Emergency Medical Services) Manager oversees the operations, staffing, and performance of emergency medical teams. They ensure compliance with regulations, manage budgets, coordinate training, and develop protocols to improve patient care. EMS Managers also collaborate with other emergency response agencies to enhance overall emergency preparedness and response effectiveness.
To thrive as an EMS Manager, you need a comprehensive understanding of emergency medical services operations, personnel management, and relevant healthcare regulations, typically supported by paramedic certification and supervisory experience. Familiarity with dispatch software, EMS reporting systems, and incident management tools is crucial. Leadership, decision-making under pressure, and effective verbal and written communication are standout soft skills for this position. These abilities ensure rapid, coordinated emergency responses, efficient team performance, and high-quality patient care in high-stress environments.
An EMS Manager’s daily responsibilities often include supervising paramedic teams, scheduling shifts, overseeing compliance with safety and health regulations, and managing emergency response operations. They are also responsible for coordinating training, maintaining equipment readiness, and handling administrative duties like budgeting and incident reporting. Collaboration with local hospitals, fire departments, and law enforcement is common to ensure coordinated emergency care. These tasks involve both field oversight and office-based management to keep operations running smoothly.

Role Summary:Â
As a Senior Staff Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in translating Amperesand's platform vision into tangible product features that enable next-generation grid-interactive power systems. You'll be responsible for defining and managing the delivery of differentiated inverter platform capabilities that support next generation high density DC power architectures for data centers. This role blends market insight, technical acumen, and customer empathy to prioritize features that offer meaningful impact and revenue potential. You will work closely with engineering, firmware, and commercial teams to define product strategy, drive technical execution, and enable successful go-to-market outcomes.Â
If you're passionate about building impactful, value-centric products and excited about building transformational products at the intersection of electrification, grid modernization, and digital control-this is your opportunity to lead and we want to hear from you!Â
Responsibilities:Â
Own the product roadmap for medium-voltage inverter and SST platforms enabling medium voltage and 800 V DC distribution inside data-center campuses.Â
Quantify ROI for customers through PUE/WUE improvements, power-density gains, and CapEx vs OpEx trade-offs.Â
Establish technology partnerships to maximize SST impact on customer value and to shorten deployment time and enhance reliability.Â
Engage directly with hyperscalers, colocation providers, and data-center design-build firms to define performance metrics for uptime, energy density, and fault containment.Â
Translate customer site designs into scalable product configurations that integrate grid, genset, and storage assets.Â
Monitor global data-center power trends (AI rack loads, liquid cooling, regional grid codes, carbon-free procurement) and feed insights into roadmap decisions.Â
Ensure electrical, thermal, and firmware designs meet Tier III/IV reliability targets and IEC/IEEE compliance (IEC 61850, 62477, 60364-7-716, IEEE 1547, UL 1741-SB).Â
Align power-electronics, embedded-firmware, EMS, and mechanical teams around unified release plans.Â
Collaborate with manufacturing and supply-chain to ensure cost, scalability, and manufacturability targets are met.Â
Partner with sales and applications engineering to generate customer proposals, value models, and technical collateral demonstrating differentiation versus legacy UPS/transformer systems.Â
Build quantitative business cases for each platform variant including gross-margin modeling and total-cost-of-ownership analysis.Â
Conduct competitive benchmarking versus central inverter, rotary UPS, and lithium-ion BESS suppliers.Â
Identify regulatory and incentive frameworks (energy-storage credits, grid-support revenue streams) that influence pricing strategy and product adoption.Â
Qualifications:
10+ years in product or technical leadership within data-center powerÂ
Strong grounding in MV AC/DC architectures, grid interconnection, redundancy schemes, and fault protectionÂ
Understanding of MV system behavior, grid interaction, and fault protection.Â
Energy Storage & EMS Familiarity: Experience with hybrid systems and integration of batteries or EMS solutions.Â
Experience building business cases and customer ROI models for infrastructure or capital-equipment sales Â
Proven ability to work with engineers, firmware developers, and system architects to deliver complex hardware-software products.Â
Exposure to AI data-center designs, energy-management systems, or hybrid-grid microgrids Â
BSEE required; MSEE or MBA preferredÂ
Technical Skills:Â
Power Electronics & Inverter Systems: Deep understanding of bidirectional inverter design, and grid-supportive functionalities (e.g., reactive power, anti-islanding, grid-forming).Â
Medium Voltage Systems: Familiarity with MV infrastructure (e.g., 22kV systems), grounding/fault protection, switchgear, and interconnection requirements.Â
Hybrid Energy Systems: Experience integrating energy storage systems (ESS), EMS platforms, and managing charge/discharge optimization.Â
Firmware Collaboration: Ability to co-develop feature sets with embedded systems teams, particularly around real-time control loops, black start logic, and remote diagnostics.Â
Standards & Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of IEEE 1547, UL 1741-SB, IEC 61850, NEC 705/710/480/490, and grid interconnection frameworks.Â
System Modeling & Specification: Capable of writing clear, technically detailed product requirements including control architecture, communication protocols, and I/O definitions.Â
Data-Driven Prioritization: Comfortable with tradeoff decisions using customer value, technical feasibility, and time-to-market drivers.Â
Bonus Qualifications:Â
Energy Sector Knowledge: Experience working on projects related to smart grids, renewable energy, or energy management platforms is a plus.Â
Please note: This role requires working on-site 5 days a week. We do not offer hybrid or remote options.Â
