Job description

Summary

The EMS Training Officer is responsible for the education resource for operations of clinical and pre-hospital co- worker education systems at Parkview Health. Performs as key member of patient care report audit and review and the Peer Review process. Is a key member of the team in technology management, documentation, customer support, and technical assistance to assure the continuity of the pre-hospital patient care. Responsible for procurement for equipment and ongoing update and maintenance of the educational materials to assure all media and material is evidence-based and reviewed by clinical experts within Service Line specialty arena. Possesses the ability to conduct ongoing monitoring, troubleshooting issues and provides a solution toward resolution. Utilizes clinical support systems to assist in monitoring, auditing and assuring documentation integrity in PCR related to patient education. . Can effectively collaborate with the EMS Manager and EMS Medical Director(s) to develop policies and procedures regarding pre-hospital education systems.

Education

Associate degree in Paramedic Science or healthcare related field preferred; or a combination of three years pre- hospital care experience and demonstration of ability to consistently achieve results and assigned tasks significantly better than established measures.

Licensure/Certification

Must maintain a current EMT-Paramedic license/certification. Must maintain a current Primary Instructor certification Must maintain a current and valid Indiana driver's license

Experience

Must have three years experience as an EMT-Paramedic. Must have one year experience as a Primary Instructor.

Other Qualifications

Must demonstrate insurability under PHS vehicle and liability insurance policies, without a "Driver's exclusion", and/or other insurance modifications, and/or "High Risk" classification. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
