Patient Records and Accounting Assistant (Part-time, Day Shift) Job Summary:
Hospice of Lenawee, a 5-STAR Medicare.gov rated hospice, seeks a compassionate and detail oriented Team Member for a part-time, Patient Records and Accounting Assistant position. The Patient Records and Accounting Assistant will support the mission of Hospice of Lenawee by providing clerical and general office assistance to the patient care program and the accounting department. This role is a calling for someone with data entry, customer service, and Microsoft Office or similar programs experience. Payroll, medical coding, and EMR experience preferred.
Patient Records and Accounting Assistant (Part-time, Day Shift) Pay & Benefits:

Requirements
Patient Records and Accounting Assistant (Part-time, Day Shift) Requirements:
  • High School Diploma.
  • College coursework in business, healthcare, or related field of study, preferred.
  • Experience working with computerized programs and with Microsoft Office or similar programs, required.
  • Experience doing data entry, required.
  • Customer service experience, required.
  • Payroll experience, preferred.
  • Experience working with EMR's, working in a healthcare setting, and in medical coding, preferred.

Patient Records and Accounting Assistant (Part-time, Day Shift) Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintains the Home Care and Hospice Home patient charts and medical records computer files according to Medicare regulations.
  • Provides back up to the Accountant by processing payroll in their absence.
  • Provides assistance to the Finance Director with filing and spreadsheet maintenance as needed.
  • Prepares IDT meeting reports and communicates IDT updates to attending physicians in Patient Care Secretary absence.
  • Performs patient record filing.
  • Verifies insurance benefits of referred patients in Patient Care Secretary absence.
  • Assists in design and maintenance of clinical forms and reports.
