Expected Starting Salary Range: 37.80 - 47.89

SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION:

Join the nation's leading children's hospital as an EMR Analyst II, where you will utilize your technical expertise and Epic certification(s) to enhance productivity. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and Epic technical specialists to resolve technical challenges and eliminate inefficiencies. By staying current with industry solutions and technologies, you will optimize EMR system workflows and improve user experiences, enabling healthcare providers to prioritize patient care. Additionally, you will drive cost savings through system improvements and error reduction, benefiting patient families, while ensuring that technology initiatives align with the hospital's mission and goals.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

Build/Configuration/Release Management

  • Analyze, design, implement, and maintain moderately complex systems to enhance clinical care and patient management.
  • Support system testing and document testing outcomes.
  • Develop technical solutions utilizing the development lifecycle process, operating procedures, and documentation.
  • Collaborate on scheduling clinical systems training and build environments to ensure they are current and usable for end-user training.
  • Independently develop educational technology content for relevant use.
  • Recommend and participate in process improvement to advance education and learning processes, content tracking, and content review and revision.
  • Drive the use of multivariate learning modalities to cover the adult learning spectrum and clinical system education needs.

Leadership

  • Take ownership of tasks with a sense of urgency and drive them to completion.
  • Proactively identify what needs to be done and take initiative.
  • Communicate with the supervisor regarding overall issues and roadblocks.
  • Identify the appropriate resources needed to complete small/medium projects.
  • Support communication on project-related issues and developments.
  • Work with cross-functional teams and participate in design and leadership team meetings for clinical applications throughout the hospital.
  • Consult with end users to ensure clinical system applications and training programs support patient care delivery processes.
  • Network with internal and external experts to identify best practices for clinical system use and training.
  • Promote the use of industry best practice tools for efficient and innovative education and learning.

Professional Growth & Development

  • Maintain currency in the field by participating in educational opportunities provided by vendors and other customer connections.
  • Conduct and participate in instructional sessions to improve skills.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships, both internal and external to CCHMC.

  • Prepare and deliver oral and written presentations.

Project Management

  • Support and/or lead the design, development, and implementation of new and enhanced application requests.
  • Support and/or lead project plans and related documentation for moderately complex projects.
  • Determine the scope of moderately complex projects and coordinate the appropriate resources needed.
  • Prioritize, organize, and complete assigned tasks and associated documentation as directed by the supervisor or customers.
  • Facilitate communication between internal and external parties on assigned tasks and related issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper integration.
  • Consult with and support the end-user community to develop and validate requirements for system solutions.

Customer Support

  • Develop collaborative professional relationships with customer groups and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting skills and ensure outstanding end-user support.
  • Monitor Service Level Agreements for incident management and collaborate with other areas to ensure customer-centered support.
  • Independently think critically to resolve problems and reach positive solutions.
  • Plan and execute user support through clinical system training and the creation and curation of advanced education and training materials.
  • Adhere to and promote continual adoption of change management policies and procedures.
  • Interact collaboratively with all levels of staff throughout the Medical Center.
  • Model outstanding customer service behavior, including timely and effective follow-up with customers.
  • Maintain CCHMC’s service standards of being Courteous, Attentive, Respectful, Enthusiastic, and Safe (CARES).
Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE


Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred:
  • Epic certification in Cadence and Referrals.
  • Proficiency in working with Epic Information Systems, including implementation and maintenance.
  • Direct experience within the revenue cycle environment, understanding the unique workflows and challenges.
