Job description

An industry-leading transportation and logistics organization is seeking an HR Employee Relations Specialist to support employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, and compliance initiatives across the organization. This role serves as a key partner to management, helping ensure consistent policy application, effective employee relations practices, and compliance with employment laws and company procedures.
Responsibilities:
* Manage employee relations matters including progressive discipline, performance concerns, employee complaints, and policy interpretation
* Conduct workplace investigations related to harassment, discrimination, policy violations, and employee concerns while ensuring compliance with employment laws and EEOC guidelines
* Coach managers and supervisors on employee relations issues, performance management, and corrective actions
* Draft and review employee relations documentation including disciplinary actions, investigation summaries, performance improvement plans, and related records
* Support employee separations, exit interviews, and termination processes
* Track and analyze employee relations metrics including turnover, complaints, investigations, and corrective actions
* Collaborate with HR leadership on sensitive employee relations matters and compliance initiatives
* Assist with policy updates, audits, and employment law compliance requirements
* Stay current on changes to federal, state, and local employment laws
Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years of HR experience focused on employee relations in a corporate environment
* Experience handling progressive discipline, performance management, workplace investigations, and supervisor coaching
* Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
* Experience drafting and reviewing employee relations documentation
* Bilingual (English/Spanish)
* Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field OR current HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, etc.)
* Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to create and maintain reports, document information, work with formulas, and analyze data
* Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
* Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, conditional formatting, IF statements, and complex formulas
* SHRM or HRCI certification
* Experience with HRIS systems
