Minimum Annual Salary $45,000 Salary Band: UC S04 Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for strengthening connections between the school district and the community through effective communication, strategic partnerships, and coordination of work-based learning opportunities. This role manages external communications, supports career-connected learning experiences for students, and promotes the district's mission through events, publications, and social media.
The Community Outreach Coordinator works closely with district and building administrators, teachers, business partners, and families to ensure meaningful engagement that enhances student learning and community involvement.
The Community Outreach Coordinator will:
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism
  • Build positive relationships with families, staff, and community partners.
  • Be proactive in identifying opportunities to highlight student learning.
  • Support the district's mission, vision, and strategic goals.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Education, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Two to three years of related experience, includes experience as a graduate assistant, internship and/or co-op.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience coordinating events or programs
  • Experience using social media in a professional or organizational setting

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in education or nonprofit organizations
  • Experience with community partnership development
  • Experience supporting career-connected or work-based learning programs
  • Graphic design or digital media experience

Essential Functions and percent of time:
1. Work-Based Learning Coordination - 30%
Support and help coordinate district work-based learning opportunities, including:
o Internships
o Job shadowing
o Middle school career exploration
o Elementary career awareness and exploration activities
Assists with logistics, scheduling, communication, and documentation of work-based learning experiences
Collaborate with counselors and principals to support work-based learning initiatives
Tracks participation and outcomes to support program evaluation and improvement
2. Communication & Administrative Support - 30%
Draft and distribute the district's weekly and quarterly newsletters
Manage and update district website content and calendars
Create social media posts aligned to district priorities
Provide communication support across campus as needed
Support scheduling, travel planning, and coordination related to outreach efforts
Provides administrative support to district and building administrators related to communications, partnerships, and events.
Performs other duties as assigned in support of district priorities
3. Partnership & Community Coordination - 20%
Coordinate partner requests from teachers and staff
Track and manage community partnership interactions
Support and manage the Student Ambassador Program
Track work-based learning placements and post opportunities for students
Assist Director of Strategic Partnerships in cultivating and maintaining positive relationships with external partners

4. Event & Engagement Support - 20%

Coordinates logistics for school and district events that involve families, community members, and partners (setup, supplies, vendor coordination, and day-of support).
Assist with planning and execution of outreach events, partner sessions, and student showcases
Manage ordering of event supplies, promotional items, catering, and branded swag for administrative initiatives
Welcome and support external visitors and community guests
