Human Resources Internship

Cedar Springs, MI

Hourly, non-exempt

Days: Monday – Thursday (4 days/week)

Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Intern to join our HR team. This internship provides hands-on experience across a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and HR operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to launch a career in Human Resources while contributing to a fast-paced, growing organization.

Essential Responsibilities:
    1.Assist with daily HR operations and administrative tasks
    2.Support recruitment efforts, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews
    3.Coordinate onboarding activities, including preparing new hire paperwork and orientation sessions
    4.Maintain employee records and HR databases with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
    5.Assist with payroll, benefits administration, and employee data updates
    6.Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits
    7.Support HR projects such as employee engagement initiatives, training programs, and policy updates
    8.Conduct research on HR best practices and assist in improving HR processes
    9.Help plan company events and support a positive workplace culture
    10.Perform HR file audits to ensure compliance and completeness
    11.Compile reports and track key HR metrics
    12.Provide general support to the HR team and complete special projects as assigned
Education & Experience:
    1.Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
    2.Strong interest in Human Resources and organizational development
    3.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
    4.Familiarity with HR systems (HRIS/ATS) is a plus
    5.Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
    6.Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
    7.Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    8.Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
