Job Summary: 

The Sr. Employee Benefits Account Executive is responsible for retaining and expanding client relationships, improving the client experience by demonstrating expertise as a professional insurance advisor, and facilitating the sales cycle of identified opportunities to achieve client goals. The AE champions relationships with existing accounts and supports the acquisition of new clients. They partner with the Account Managers to service as the primary contact for the client for matters related to their financial responsibilities, such as carrier fees. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Senior level contact responsible for clients’ employee benefit experience, accountable for developing and executing the benefit strategy and ensuring service standards are met.  

  • Directs/Mentors/Coaches Account Managers (AM) and junior level support staff, supporting the assigned employee benefit client.  

  • Acts as an ambassador with vendors and carriers promoting positive working relationships.  

  • Creates client renewal strategy and ensures that it is successfully executed by the team.  

  • Directs client benefit communication needs including wellness programs and benefit enrollment.  

  • Stays up to date with industry trends, and compliance deliverables for clients. 

  • Leads Self-funding marketing alongside data analytics team. 

  • Responsible for coordinating, presenting renewal details and driving cost containment strategies. 

  • Manage and oversee the Open Enrollment timeline to ensure that client expectations are met. 

  • Responsible for rounding out existing client accounts at the time of pre-renewal. 

Requirements:  

  • Proven professional history of success at managing client relationships. 

  • Possess a proven understanding of fundamental benefit laws, regulations, and compliance standards. 

  • Ability to calculate customized financial analysis and present an interpretation of the data and its meaning. 

  • Excellent attention to detail is required

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization verbally and in writing

Education and Experience:

  • 4+ years of account management experience of large complex Employee Benefits experience. (100+ employees). 

  • State Life and Health Producers license is required, industry professional designation a plus. 

  • Self-funded experience is required. 

  • Epic and Employee Navigator are preferred and/or other agency management systems. 

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
