Position Summary:

Reporting to theSenior Director of Major Giftsas our lead storyteller, the Development Manager is the strategist ensuring those stories are backed by data, fueled by grants, and supported by the community.

We are looking for a sharp, organized, and mission-driven professional to serve as ourCRM Administrator, lead our grant-writing efforts, and champion our community-level fundraising. This is a role for someone who loves the satisfaction of a clean database as much as the joy of a successful community event.The Development Manager serves as the key support for the Senior Director of Major Gifts by managingkeyrevenuesources(grants, direct mail,mid-leveldonors).They area memberof the Philanthropy and Marketing team and have one direct report.

Key Responsibilities

CRM Administrator (The "Data Architect")

  • Serve as the primary admin for our CRM (Bloomerang), ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Build andmaintaindonor dashboards, pull weekly/monthly revenue reports, and provide the Senior Director with actionable "ready-to-ask" lists.
  • Manage/overseethe gift acknowledgment process, ensuring every donor feels appreciated within48 hours.
  • Train other staff members onCRMbest practices to ensure a "culture of data."

Grant Writing & Management

  • Research, write, andsubmitcompelling grant proposals to local, regional, and national foundations.
  • Submit Grant reports ina timelyfashion.
  • Maintain a strict grants calendar to ensure all deadlines for applications and impact reports are met.
  • Work closely with the Shelter and Clinic teams to gather the data and stories needed for high-quality submissions.

Community Engagement & Mid-Level Fundraising

  • Manage a portfolio of "community partners" and local business sponsors, securing event sponsorships and annual partnerships.
  • Represent HSNEGA at community events, chamber meetings, and tabling opportunities to grow our local presence.
  • Overseedigital fundraising campaigns in collaboration withorganization'sdirect mail vendor.


Leadership & Mentorship

  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, andgoal-settingfor one direct report.
  • Ensure your teammember issupported in their daily tasks (gift entry, eventlogistics, etc.) while helping them grow professionally.

Qualifications

  • 3+ yearsof experience in nonprofit development, operations, or data management.
  • Proven CRM Mastery:You have "SrAdmin" level experience (Bloomerang,GiveSmart, Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, etc.).
  • Grant Success:A track recordof writing and securing grants (experience with animal welfare grants is a major plus).
  • Leadership Potential:Previousexperience managing a person, an intern, or a significant project team.
  • Attention to Detail:You'rethe person who catches the typo in the 10th paragraph and notices when a donor's name is misspelled.
