Job Summary
Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) Workforce Solutions seeks qualified adjunct instructors to deliver engaging, high-quality professional development training for business, industry, government, healthcare, education, and community organizations. Adjunct instructors will facilitate workforce training programs in areas such as leadership development, communication skills, conflict management, team building, customer service, emotional intelligence, workplace professionalism, supervisory skills, change management, and other organizational development topics.
Adjunct instructors are responsible for creating a positive learning environment, delivering interactive instruction, and helping participants develop practical skills that improve workplace performance and organizational effectiveness.
Job Duties:
  • Deliver instructor-led professional development courses in a classroom, virtual, or hybrid format.
    • Facilitate engaging learning experiences that encourage participation, discussion, and practical application.
    • Customize training content, activities, and examples to meet client and industry needs.
    • Develop and update course materials, presentations, handouts, and assessments as needed.
  • Evaluate participant learning outcomes and provide constructive feedback.
    • Maintain accurate attendance, training records, and required documentation.
    • Collaborate with Workforce Solutions staff to ensure quality program delivery and customer satisfaction.
    • Demonstrate current knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and adult learning principles.
    • Travel to training locations throughout the service region as needed.
    • Adhere to BSCTC and KCTCS policies, procedures, and professional standards.

    This is a part-time, temporary adjunct position. Assignments are based on Workforce Solutions training needs, instructor expertise, client demand, and course availability. Hours and schedules will vary and may include daytime, evening, or weekend training opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Leadership, Education, Communications, Psychology, or a related field.
• Three (3) years of professional experience in leadership, training, human resources, organizational development, management, education, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience facilitating training, teaching, presenting, or leading professional development programs.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and workforce development practices.
• Ability to engage diverse audiences and adapt instructional methods to varying learning styles.
• Strong facilitation, presentation, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to establish credibility with professionals across industries and organizational levels.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple training assignments.
• Ability to stand and present for extended periods.
