The position is located in the Department of Justice (DOJ), Justice Management Division (JMD), Office of Human Capital (OHC), Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The incumbent will serve as an official liaison and program coordinator and will develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate suicide prevention activities in support of department goals and will do so in collaboration with stakeholders withing DOJ as well as other federal government agencies.Qualifications:To qualify for the position of Employee Assistance Program Specialist, at GS-0101-13/14, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below.
BASIC REQUIREMENT:
A. Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience that you have knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
C. Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that you have acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
AND
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR:
You must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted state license to independently practice professional counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, clinical psychology or counseling psychology, examples may include: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LISW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP) or Counseling Psychologist, PhD.
AND
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
For the GS-13, you must possess at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Assisting in providing short term, counseling, and/or referral services to employees; 2) Assisting in evaluating and/or implementing suicide prevention activities; AND 3) Assisting in planning and/or developing Employee Assistance Program training sessions.
For the GS-14, you must possess at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the GS-13 level or equivalent. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Providing short-term counseling services to employees; 2) Identifying employee assistance resources for employees or covered family members; and 3) Evaluating effectiveness of Employee Assistance Program or Work life Program; AND 4) Developing, implementing, monitoring, or evaluating suicide prevention activities in support of department goals.
