Cafeteria Attendant

Pay: $17/hr.

Hotel Emma is seeking service‑driven, dependable candidates to join our team as a Cafeteria Attendant, supporting the daily family meal program. This role is primarily kitchen‑based and plays an important part in fostering a positive, collaborative environment for our associates.

Job Description

The Cafeteria Attendant supports daily lunch service and meal preparation while maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and teamwork. This role requires reliability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to Hotel Emma’s culture and kitchen standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set up and maintain assigned workstation and mise en place according to Chef specifications and recipes
  • Prepare and cook cafeteria meals to order and according to daily production sheets
  • Complete all food preparation and proper storage for current and following day needs by end of shift
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized kitchen, walk‑in, and storage areas in coordination with the Sous Chef
  • Follow all Hotel Emma kitchen policies, procedures, and cleanliness guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with the Chef or Sous Chef regarding service needs, equipment issues, or associate feedback
  • Assist with daily inventory of produce cooler and dry storage
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, health, fire, and safety standards
  • Use labor and product responsibly and efficiently
  • Support additional tasks or projects as assigned and assist teammates as business levels require
  • Report to work on time, well‑groomed, and prepared to represent Hotel Emma professionally
  • Serve as a positive role model and ambassador for the property and department

Job Requirements:

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and departmental teams
  • Professional demeanor that reflects and supports the Emma Culture
  • 6+ months of related kitchen or food service experience and/or training preferred
  • Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
