Job description


The Marketing and Communications leader will lead strategic and operational marketing and communications strategies and digital product solutions to promote greater usage of Bank financial products and services and broad-based recognition of its community investment programs. The leader will build brand awareness and reinforce the Bank's position - both internally and externally - as an essential part of the country's financial system. This highly visible and hands-on role leads a team of marketers, communicators, digital product experts, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Planning
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies across all channels and stakeholder audiences that support Bank objectives and business goals
  • Lead narrative positioning and brand storytelling that resonates with members, stakeholders, and employees
  • Define marketing and digital roadmaps that align with product launches, member growth, and reputation objectives
  • Report on marketing strategy and results to sales, Bank leadership, and Board of Directors

Brand & Campaigns, Events Management
  • Build, launch, and drive successful marketing campaigns across digital, email, social, traditional, and emerging channels
  • Partnering closely with sales and business leads, develop targeted marketing and product campaigns, utilizing key accounts, ABM, social and other B2B channels
  • Lead B2B marketing initiatives and sales enablement programs that equip member-facing teams to succeed
  • Manage brand consistency and positioning across the Bank's channels
  • Oversee world-class events and conference experience production that strengthen stakeholder relationships

Digital Product Management
  • Lead digital product team that manages online member portal, corporate website, and company intranet products

PR, Communications & Content Management
  • Lead comprehensive public relations and advocacy programs that effectively promote the Bank and educate stakeholders across channels

  • Support investor relations announcements and reporting activities
  • Collaborate and act as FHLBank San Francisco Communication Officer at system-wide FHLBank committees and conferences

Relationship & Stakeholder Management
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships across Bank leadership, Bank membership, FHLBank system and internal stakeholders
  • Serve as trusted advisor to senior leadership on market positioning and competitive landscape

Internal & Executive Communications
  • Establish and deliver internal communications strategy that fosters organizational alignment and engagement
  • Create messaging frameworks that cascade strategic priorities across all employees
  • Build internal advocacy communications and events for key Bank programs
  • Lead CEO and leadership communications to best position our leaders internally and externally

Team Leadership
  • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing marketing and digital product team

Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years progressive marketing leadership experience in financial services or mission-driven organizations
  • Proven track record building and executing integrated campaigns across multiple channels
  • Deep expertise in relationship management, stakeholder engagement and storytelling
  • Strong B2B marketing background with demonstrated sales enablement success
  • Experience developing narrative positioning, PR, and thought leadership for multiple audience segments
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, social media strategy, and emerging channels
  • Track record of leading successful events and experiential marketing initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to influence strategy and think beyond marketing function
  • Excellence in team leadership and cross-functional collaboration

Salary Range: $245k to $295k
